Glasgow band Young and the Satellites have recently released their West End inspired debut single. The band are purveyors of bouncy, pleasant and playful guitar pop.
The emerging group consists of Steven Young, Tommy Phillips, Scott Forsyth, David Dunsmuir and Craig McGown.
We caught up with drummer Scott to talk all things Glasgow.
First, check out their charming song The Gallery with a music video that stopped traffic on Byres Road. It’s great fun.
What do you like best about Glasgow?
The music scene, I’ve never been anywhere else that has such an eclectic and vibrant scene, there is live music every night of the week, we are spoilt for choice in Glasgow!
Best outdoors space?
Nothing beats Kelvingrove Park in the summer. Inn Deep is a cracking sun trap and does a great pint of Williams Bros lager.
Best restaurant right now?
111 by Nico is fantastic, found in Kelvindale. The restaurant itself trains up young people with a poorer start in life. The food is excellent and the staff equally brilliant.
Best pub?
The Belle on Great Western Road is the perfect pub for me.
Where do you like to pick up ingredients for cooking?
Roots & Fruits for fresh produce is great, however on a musicians wage I find myself doing most of my shopping in Aldi.
Where would you meet us for a coffee?
Meadow Road in Partick is a great coffee shop, they serve Glasgow’s own Dear Green coffee and the food is great too.
Where do you shop for clothes?
I’m a high street shopper, nothing fancy, H&M, Topman, I would rather go for a pint than buy a t-shirt.

When you are with friends in Glasgow, what do you like to do?
I love to see live music all over the city, whether it’s in a cramped pub like Jinty McGintys on a Saturday, seeing the local resident bands showcase their phenomenal song writing talents at the Butterfly and the Pig or getting covered in beer at a gig at the Barras.
