Scotland’s newest concert hall welcomed its first visitors today as the purpose-built home for the Royal Scottish National Orchestra was opened in Glasgow.
The new venue slots in beside the Royal Concert Hall and John Lewis at Buchanan Galleries and features a new 600 capacity performance space. The building will provide rehearsal space for the resident orchestra and host public recitals throughout the year.
The new concert hall will add extra capacity to the hugely successful Royal Concert Hall that has become one of the city’s most popular venues after it was built in 1990 during Glasgow’s year as European City of Culture. The venue will be available to local music organisations and promoters.
